As a kid Scott had a fascination with drawing, especially his primary interest, cars. In college, he studied Advertising Art, but later moved into Computer Science. During a summer break he worked for a local architecture firm but when it came time to go back to school, he chose to stay in architecture. He went on to work in the field of Design/Build as designer and estimator. He acquired a license as a General Contractor and opened a ‘Design Build’ office with a friend that was a licensed architect.
He first joined Artech in the early nineties and then went back out on his own as Home Inspector and Home Designer. When work slowed due to the recession in 2018, he went to work for a mall developer as the site plan manager. After that he worked at a local engineering firm as a project manager and ‘floating designer’. Scott returned to Artech in 2020.
