This iconic old hotel has been converted into an experimental co-operative living project. The apartments range from 350 to 500 square feet, and there are several common areas in which residents may gather. Units feature micro kitchens; large community kitchens are located on two different floors. The original hotel featured a central air/light well that extended to the second floor. Opening this light well with a skylight brings natural light to the second floor's large “innovation” room - the building's central common area. Wherever possible, balconies have been added to apartments, allowing tenants to experience the outdoors with views of the newly remodeled Patten Parkway, Chattanooga's newest public/urban plaza. The balconies evoke the bridges of Chattanooga.
