We’ve worked on multiple retail projects that include complex site planning, zoning requirements, pre-development approvals, and phasing. In addition to our traditional responsibilities of helping design and build great retail spaces, these projects also required us to be heavily involved in pre-development by attending public forums, presenting to multiple agencies, and conducting negotiations with other parties involved in the project, including local, county, and state agencies.
When we saw an opportunity in one project to make use of a "borrow" pit for an adjacent construction project, we lost no time in taking advantage of the prospect to design a beautiful pedestrian area that included a lake, fountains, a children's playground, a band stage pavilion, and other waterfront activities.
